1. Breathe in- Breathe out – do this for a few mins as you start the day. The world can wait..
  2. Pay attention to your senses when eating/drinking/walking and enjoy the moments
  3. Be still – The first few minutes as you get up from the bed, just sit and be still. Let your mind wander, but bring it back to the moment and calm yourself down. [this works for me, hence a suggestion]
  4. Non-judgemental – You do not know what others are going through, their background, or their story. Slowly take baby steps towards becoming a non-judgemental person.
  5. Be grateful – say a word of thanks to the people, to the things, to the joys you experience every day
  6. Be aware – whatever you do, whatever you think or say, be aware of the words/their meaning
  7. Go easy on yourself – it is ok, we are all dealing with life to the best of our abilities. Go easy, and don’t beat yourself up too much
  8. Get out – for at least a few minutes each day, go outside, even if it is just to the balcony or near a window. Put your phone aside and just be there…
  9. Smile & laugh – if you see/read/watch something funny, smile a big smile or laugh, don’t care if there are others… Infact, it might make them smile.
  10.  Switch off – when hitting the bed, keep your phone at least a few feet away from you. Same applies for other gadgets.. And if you do wake up in the middle of the night, do not check the time, or start browsing social media… 🙂
