Sunday, July 7th, was a Sunday and I was thankfully home. It was Partha’s birthday, and what made it special was that it was the day we finally managed to break free from the monotony of our routine and step out. Our destination? The ever-charming Third Wave Coffee in Balewadi, my personal haven for caffeine and tranquillity.

It was a sheer stroke of luck that Partha’s birthday fell on a Sunday. I hadn’t planned anything big cos i dint know where I was going to be that day but had ordered Sourdough bread and cinnamon roll from a baker friend as I knew he’d enjoy those. It gave us the perfect excuse to plan a mini celebration. And what better way to celebrate than with good company and great coffee? We invited a bunch of my friends, who, despite the distance, were more than happy to join us. They had been wanting to visit for a while and so it worked out perfect.

The moment we stepped into Third Wave; it was like entering a world of pure bliss, I was thrilled to be back there. Since moving to Pune, this coffee shop had become a space where I could get away, sit and read, meet friends, work meetings or just spend time finishing up things on me to do list.  That particular day was special indeed. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, the soft music created a soothing ambiance, and the overall vibe was just perfect. Our friends arrived with infectious smiles and an aura of positivity that instantly lifted our spirits.

Partha surprised me with my favourite signature coffee [filter coffee made with jaggery], and there was also bagel, an affogato he got himself [ ice cream poured over hot coffee]. Friends had ordered pancakes and more drinks. The conversations flowed effortlessly, filled with laughter, shared experiences, and dreams. Friend also got us some gifts [I tell “US” because she got him a T-shirt, and one for me along with some creams, she makes these amazing Tie & Dye stuff] It was as if time stood still, and we were lost in a world of pure joy and camaraderie.

The meet ended with a feeling of contentment and gratitude. It was a reminder of the importance of friendship, the power of good company, and the simple pleasures in life. Thank you, universe, for this perfect Sunday.
