Saturday, both of us had some work, but we wanted to step out for a spin. Decided we will go check out this gourmet store called “The Pantry”. One that we spotted on Instagram a few weeks back, seen enough times when driving past it but yet to step in and check it out. Got ready, and hit the road, and just as we were reaching the junction, we realized we were hungry.

He- Am hungry, lets do lunch before we head to the store. What say?
Me – Yes, sure
He – Can you find a place nearby where we can grab a bite?
Me- Pulls out the phone, opens Google and ting, remembered something. How about AB, it is close by and we have been wanting to for a while?
He – Perfect. let’s go.

Took a U-turn, and entered the complex, found parking, and waited for the elevator.
Finally reached the 2nd floor, walked into AB like we owned the place only to be turned away cos they were booked and no tables available.

We then left the place and walked towards this other restaurant next door – Spice Factory. Discovered they had plenty of seating and was a huge place. Took a table at the far end, open and with an outdoor view. Settled in, and waited for someone to come to take our order.

After a few minutes, someone came around to our table and we placed the order.
Fresh Lime soda salt & Veg Khao Suey for me
Guava Mary [Mocktail ] & the peri peri chicken sizzler for him
A few minutes later we added some Nachos to the order hoping it would come early
But lo behold, our mains came 1st and then the nachos arrived in style.

The food was good… Both our mains were fairly large portions, we barely made a dent, and packed the rest. The nachos were crispy, the sauce was delicious with a good jalapeno kick to it. We were stuffed and had no place for dessert, literally turned the staff away after he spent a good few minutes trying to convince us to order the sizzling brownie.

The Khao Suey was beautiful – the noodles had a good garlic hit, while the gravy was creamy and packed with flavour. Accompaniments added to the flavor and I loved it. The sizzler too was good – a generous portion of potato wedges, grilled veggies, and chicken pieces in peri peri sauce served on a bed of noodles [almost like spaghetti]

We finally got back to the car and got on the way towards the store with happy tummies and a grin knowing we had more for dinner in the back seat~

The surprise element of the lunch was the staff asking us if we had Zomato and telling us about the offer on the app. My partner was a Zomato pro plus member and so we available the 50% off offer. So, the meal that was Rs1980 ended up being Rs990 only. We were thrilled beyond bits and quite enamored by the wait staff who told us of this offer.

All the staff kept their mask on. They served us bottled water with disposable glasses. Quite attentive and service was top notch~
The food was very good, mighty impressed and happy about the choice we made.
