We are constantly looking for South Indian restaurants – big and small and always ready to give them a try. The latest to join this was “DVG Benne Dosa Hinjewadi” .. Spotted the place a couple of times and having eaten the dosa at the OG place in Davangera, we were curious & decided to give it a try…
We ordered:
Masala DVG Benne Dosa,
Cheese DVG Benne Dosa
Thatte podi idli,
Filter coffee and
Sheera..
The beauty of these benne dosa was the way they were made – the butter used and the flavour in the dosa. It was served with a blob of potato masala [ which is very different from the regular masala dosa filling] and a simple coconut chutney. The dosa we got from here was lacking any kind of flavour, and the potato tasted like the masala dosa filling. Sigh…Top it off, the Dosa was weird and dry,
The podi idli on the other hand had ZERO flavour, it lacked any kind of flavour [no salt, no fermented batter flavour, nothing at all], same for the podi. Was stumped at how tasteless they all were.
The only positive was the sheera & coffee. t
